Toronto's mayor, Olivia Chow, has expressed disappointment with the federal government's housing measures, stating that they are not ambitious enough and that the funds are needed urgently. While she is pleased with the government's blueprint for housing targets and the allocation of $1 billion for affordable housing, Chow believes more needs to be done to address the housing crisis in Toronto. Ontario's Finance Minister, Peter Bethlenfalvy, also supports the housing measures but calls for additional funding for infrastructure and asylum seekers.
