Toronto's Housing Now initiative is making progress, with development approvals in place for 10 of the 22 identified sites. Construction has begun on one site, with two more expected to start this year. The initiative aims to create over 16,000 new homes, with a third of them being affordable rentals. The sites include mixed-use communities and housing for Indigenous elders and seniors. The City is working closely with proponent teams and external financing partners to expedite financing for priority projects.
